Why copying a GDPR template is risky for KVKK compliance

Shared privacy principles do not make GDPR and Turkey's KVKK interchangeable compliance templates.

A translated GDPR template is not automatically a valid KVKK disclosure.

Turkey's data protection authority has explicitly warned about disclosure texts that merely reference GDPR or copy another controller's text without adapting it to real processing activities. It has also emphasized that disclosure and explicit consent should not be merged into one ambiguous flow.

Start from the actual data map: controller identity, purposes, recipients, collection method, legal basis and user rights. Then make the product enforce retention, deletion and request-handling processes.

This is not legal advice; current obligations should be verified against official KVKK guidance and qualified counsel.
